The community of Fließ encompasses the village of Piller, Hochgallmigg, Niedergallmigg, Urgen, Eichholz and Sonnenberg. Excavations from the Bronze Age, the sacred site on the Piller Saddle with its sacrificial offerings and the Roman Via Claudia Augusta clearly show that the area around Fließ has long been inhabited. Parts of Fließ belong to the Kaunergrat Nature Reserve. Dry slopes and a moor at the Piller Saddle with more than 1500 species of butterflies and a great number of plant species contribute to this unique nature reserve. Between some houses in the West-Tyrolean Mittelflurhaus-style, the two churches of Fließ can be found: Pfarrer Maaß Church (520 A.C.) and St. Barbara's Church (1794-1804) which is also known as the cathedral of the Oberes Gericht region.
