Aldein is situated on the Regglberg, a sunny plateau on the eastern side of the Bozner Unterland region. Aldein is subdivided into the villages of Radein and Holen, as well as numerous isolated farmhouses. The mountains in the east are impressive: Weißhorn (light limestone), Schwarzhorn (dark porphyr) and between the basin at the Jochgrimm Pass. The road from Auer in the Etschtal is the main route into Fleimstal (Trentino). The road runs over the so-called "Small Europabrücke", which was built in 1964 and stretches over the Holener Gorge. Even though Aldein is still characterized by agriculture, trade and tourism (skiing area of Jochgrimm) have gained some importance.
