Wiesing is situated at the southern bottom of the Rofan Mountains in the lower Inntal. Located at the highway exit to the Zillertal and to Lake Achensee, Wiesing is an important traffic junction in the region. The scattered village of Wiesing, with a striking, pointy steeple, is furthermore subdivided into the villages of Erlach in the west and the new Rofan settlement east of the Achensee road. Due to its excellent infrastructure, Wiesing's economy is based on numerous small and medium-sized businesses and tourism. Agriculture still plays an important role.
