Today's St. Ulrich has existed since 1833 and consists of the expanding village along the road, several hamlets, numerous beautiful scattered farmhouses and Lake Piller (famous for its high fish stock), which stretches for more than 2 km in the northern part of the Pillersee Valley. Situated in the periphery, St. Ulrich has not managed to attract companies and tourists for a long time. New developments in the traffic and communication sector and relatively cheap land have led to a significant rise in the number of housing developments, second homes and companies.
