Waidbruck, the third smallest village in South Tyrol, is situated at the confluence of the Grödner River and the Eisack River. New developments are limited because of the lack of land available in the village. That is also the reason why the train station of Waidbruck is located in the neighbouring village of Lajen. In addition to its geographical location, traffic also limits new developments: Brenner Road, highway, railway, and the road into the Gröden Valley and Kastelruth all surround or run through the small centre. Because of all this traffic, Waidbruck has a limited quality of life, causing people to move away from the village. |
