Langkampfen is situated in the Unterinntal region between Kirchbichl and Kufstein north of the Inn River. Langkampfen encompasses the villages of Unterlangkampfen, Oberlangkampfen, Niederbreitenbach, Morsbach, Au and Schaftenau, where a great number of new developments, including big industrial companies next to the railway tracks, have been established. Churches are to be found in Ober- and Unterlangkampfen, where the local administrative centre is also situated. Over centuries Langkampfen with its bateaux building companies was a centre of the bateau shipping on the Inn River. Today a relatively new hydropower station, a small airport for sporting aircrafts and one heliport are located in Langkampfen. Reflected by several large farmhouses agriculture is still very important for the village.
