Ehenbichl is situated at the edge of the Reuttener Basin, away from the main road. The loosely built up settlement stretches along a terrace above the Lech River. It is assumed that there was a ford through the river, which was already used in Roman times till 1464 when a bridge was built over the Lech River. Since 1968 the district hospital has been situated in Ehenbichl in which most of the children in the district are born. Ehenbichl has always belonged to the parish of Breitenwang. In the 19th century German barons choose the village of Rieden for their summer residences. In Rieden impressive mansions can still be found. |
