Image collection »Gramaiser Tal«
Like all side-valleys of the outer area of the River Lech the Gramaiser Tal is not settlement-friendly and runs as a gorge into the Lechtal at Häselgehr. Only at the head of the valley, eight kilometres from the Lechtal, do a level area and fertile soils provide the right conditions for settlement development which took place from the Inntal over the Bschlaber Tal. Through the construction of avalanche galleries and bridges access to the smallest local community in Austria with a population of only 60 (2001 census) is generally guaranteed even during the winter months.
