Image collection »Eisack«

The source of the Eisack is at the Brenner at the border between South - and North - Tyrol. Numerous tributary streams flow into the Eisack, which runs through the Wipp- and Eisack Valley. There are several hydroelectric power plants along the river. In some parts the river forces its way through a very narrow valley together with the highway, the federal road and the railway. Four South- Tyrolean cities lie along the Eisack: Sterzing, Brixen, Klausen and Bozen. Near Bozen the Eisack flows into the Etsch.
