Stummerberg is situated on the mountain slopes on both sides of the Märzen Torrent. Gatterberg is situated on the southern slope of the Hemberg Mountain, Stummerberg lies on the opposite site. Scattered farmhouses in large deforested clearings on gentle slopes characterize the landscape. Further up the Märzengrund, which widens after a narrow, steep and forested part at the entrance to the Zillertal, one reaches a wide, plain valley with its important pasture lands.
