Fügen is situated in the lower Zillertal. Fügen lies on the fan of the Resch Torrent and stretches along the flat pasture lands along the Ziller River. The densely built up scattered village of Fügen with its baroque castle dating back to the 17h century, is surrounded by the agricultural dominated hamlets of Gagering and Kapfing. Commercial enterprises and tourism play an equally important role. In summer and winter Fügen belongs to the four most important tourist places in the Zillertal. The two skiing areas Hochfügen and Spieljoch and the timber industry enrich the local economical spectrum. An old people's home points up the regional importance of Fügen.
