The small village of Untertilliach is situated close to the provincial border to Carinthia. Together with Obertilliach, Untertilliach is part of the Lesachtal. Untertilliach is subdivided into several hamlets along the valley and on both slopes of the valley. Agriculture is often only an additional source of income for the people, who have to commute due to a lack of jobs.
