Image collection »Wörgl«

In 1951 the former market town of Wörgl received its city charter, making it the youngest town in the Tyrol. Today Wörgl is one of the fastest growing urban settlements in the Tyrol (population figures have doubled since the second half of the 20th century). The town is situated at the confluence both of the Inntal and the Brixental and the entrance of the Söllandl region and the Wildschönau Valley. Wörgl, which belongs to the district of Kufstein, is due to its convenient location as regards transport infrastructure, the most important traffic junction in the Unterland region. The railway station is likewise an important junction for the north-south and east-west routes, which is reflected by the Banhofstraße, which is the most important shopping street in town.
