Image collection »Brandenberg«

Brandenberg together with the district of Aschau in the north was first mentioned 1140 and has been a politically independent community since the beginning of the 19th century. Since the Middle Ages agriculture has shaped the cultural landscape. Besides tourism, hunting and timber industry play a significant role in Brandenberg. Many monuments from the time timber was rafted down the Inn River can still be found in the Brandenberg Valley, which used to be a centre of the regional timber industry till 1966. Famous natural sites are the gorges of Erzherzog Johann-Klause, Tiefenbach- and Kaiserklamm.
