Image collection »Fulpmes«

Fulpmes is the centre of the Stubaital. It is the terminus of the 18 km long Stubaitalbahn Tramway linking Innsbruck with Fulpmes, which was opened in 1904. Fulpmes can best be reached via the Brenner Motorway. The former iron mining industry in the Schlick area in the west, has led to the establishment of smaller metal works in the region which are still famous for its nails, scythes and tools and have given Fulpmes an important role in the region. Fulpmes is a compact village on the fan of the Schlicker Torrent. Together with the village of Medraz, with its own industrial area, Fulpmes has grown significantly. The magnificent landscape and the good access to the skiing areas (Schlick 2000 and Stubaier Gletscherbahnen) attract many tourists every year.
