The Nonsberggruppe runs in a north-south direction along the River Etsch between Meran and Mezzocorona and is demarcated in the west by the Nocetal and Val di Pescara. In the west the group is made up of Bozner quartz porphyry and in the east, in the region of the Mendelkamm, of dolomite limestone. The highest peak is the Große Langenspitze (2433 m).
