At the entrance to the Passeir in the community of Schenna lies the castle of the same name which was built around 1350 by Petermann von Schenna. After his death, the castle fell into the hands of the Starkenberg family. It is of note that the wife of Ulrich von Schenna, Ursula von Schenna, defended the castle in a many week long siege by Duke Friedrich in 1422. After changing hands a number of times, the castle of Schenna finally came into the possession of Archduke Johann whose successors still live in the castle today.
