Image collection »Castle Churburg«

Castle Churburg lies above the village of Schluderns in the Vinschgau. The castle was named after its erectors, the bishops of Chur, Switzerland. They were the bishops responsible for the Vinschgau for more than 1000 years. The castle was built on a gentle slope of a hill. This location on the one hand made it easy to build the castle, but on the other hand made fortification necessary in order to protect it. Today these fortifications make the castle look impressive. Castle Churburg is very famous for its chamber full of armours and weapons.
